Hi, my name's Ali, and I'm 16.
I've been on diets since I was an obese 9 year old, with an underactive thyroid (presumed - too young to be tested on the NHS) and IBS.
Since I turned 13, I've been slowly, but surely, upping my exercise, and cutting the rubbish out of my diet. My BMI has dropped 9 points, from 30 to 21, mainly due to weight loss, but helped along by a 2 inch growth spurt. I would now like to lose a further stone and a bit before summer 2008, and tone up a bit as well.

I've gone over my calorie target today by about 100, but that is the least of my worries. I've been having dizzy spells since about 6pm, and I've just tried to run - I managed 30 seconds before I had to sit down on a step. I feel like I've been hit by a 10 tonne bus.
I think it must be from my mts workout yesterday - every mon/thurs/sat, I do A LOT of exercise - 1-2hrs of basketball, 90 minutes in the gym doing cardio and 30 minutes weights or calisthenics, along with my usual 5 mile walk to and from college, and all the other walking I do during the day. This adds up to over 3200 calories burnt. In the past, I've eaten 1200 cals on these days, and 1500 the next day, to repair everything.
Today, though, was a down day, and I've felt soooo rubbish! Not to mention I stepped on the scales this morning, and I'm up 2lbs...Gah, today sucks...
Great workout-age.
: )
M.
I have a meal with my family tonight, so I think I'm going to fast until that, and then eat the majority of my 500cals then...We always have a lot of vegetables available, so if I avoid the vegetarian meat substitute and the potatoes, along with the gravy, I don't think I can eat more than 500 cals in that one sitting!
Today is my second 'proper' UD, and I'm really looking forward to it!
So this week
UD - Mon, Sat (~2000)
DD - Sun, Tues (~500)
DD2 - Fri (~700)
UD2 - Wed, Thurs (~1500)
It's certainly easy to overeat when the food is abundant and friends are all over, so spend more time talking than eating (wish I'd done that 'back in the day').
All the same, we're pulling for you :-)
Cheers!

Good luck with your program!
I'm Kat, I am in school too and having difficulty with the dining hall. Are you in college? You can join the group "College Students" if you'd like. I am not in college yet but I go to a boarding school and have pretty much the same problems. Good luck with everything! I have some tips if you need them.
